BIKE CAMP - FULL

Bike Camp is for students at least 8 years of age that have a disability. This camp will increase riders self-esteem and confidence. The success rate of riders independently riding a two-wheel bicycle by the end of camp is approximately 80% and all riders gain skills. BROCHURE VOLUNTEER

Have you ever wanted to build your own mini arcade cabinet? Now you can! Students will build and bring home a mini arcade cabinet, called a Cupcade, to play retro computer games. This arcade is based off of the single-board computer, the Raspberry Pi. Students will learn how to solder their own microcontrollers for the buttons and joystick and then install the Linux Cupcade operating system. Students interested in the healthcare career field will participate in a robust job shadowing experience. During this 4-day camp, campers will be introduced to healthcare career programs by exposing them to different healthcare career fields through intstructor led lectures, engagement activities, and skill enhancement workshops. In addition, campers will become familiarized with college admission procedures, engage in academic enrichment activities to build academic skills, and formulate an understanding of prerequiste requirements for admission to healthcare programs. Campers will also be exposed to tips and strategies for understanding professionalism in healthcare including enhancing job interview skills. Lunch is provided.
